At Palmyra High School, the future isn’t just coming—it’s already on full display.
Thanks to a forward-thinking partnership between Palmyra High School and Fourth Wall, a state-of-the-art 20×11 foot LED video board now anchors the school’s gymnasium, transforming everything from game days and graduations to student curriculum and community engagement. It’s more than a screen—it’s a canvas for creativity, a tool for learning, and a powerful new way to unite the Palmyra community.
A Vision Realized
What started as a conversation about upgrading an old scoreboard quickly evolved into something much bigger. Athletic Director Mr. Hoeft, seeking to improve the game day experience, connected with Fourth Wall to explore options. What he found wasn’t just a vendor—it was a collaborative partner.
“From making the project affordable to helping with fundraising and on-site support, Fourth Wall was with us every step of the way,” said Hoeft. “Their team—especially Ross and Tom—was incredible to work with. Responsive, helpful, and all-in.”
Fourth Wall’s installation features top-tier LED technology engineered for durability, visibility, and user-friendliness—all within budget. It debuted during the school’s May graduation ceremony to rave reviews, delivering immersive visuals that elevated the experience for students and families alike.
Students Become Storytellers
The most exciting part of this project? It’s not just about what’s on the screen—it’s about who’s behind it.
Palmyra has introduced new courses and programming focused on graphic design, digital media, and content creation. Now, students aren’t just watching—they’re running the show. From designing graphics to managing live event broadcasts, it’s a fully student-led operation.
“Broadcasting is entirely student-driven,” noted Superintendent Mr. Hart. “The pride they’re taking in their work is amazing. I was at a volleyball game and casually mentioned how cool the board looked. A cheerleader turned to me and said, ‘I made those! I made that one and that one!’ You could see the pride in her eyes and the ownership she had. It was great.”
Students who might not be involved on the field or court are now central to the game day experience, giving more Panthers a chance to shine.
Elevating Curriculum—and Confidence
The new display is more than a tool for entertainment—it’s an educational platform. Teachers and administrators have already seen how it enhances students’ communication skills, creativity, and technical abilities.
“What we probably underestimated,” Hart reflected, “is how fast the kids would catch on—and how much more they want to do. It’s sparked real passion.”
This hands-on experience is preparing students for careers in digital media, content production, and communications, giving them valuable real-world skills in a rapidly evolving field.
Community, Collaboration, and Celebration
The video wall has quickly become a point of pride for the entire Palmyra community. It’s already been used for school assemblies, staff trainings, and even a team-building event where the volleyball team gathered to watch a Nebraska game together.
“The reception has been overwhelmingly positive,” said Hoeft. “Parents love it. Visiting teams and referees have commented on it. Sponsors are thrilled with the visibility they’re getting. It’s helped us strengthen connections across the board.”
During the Athletic Booster Club’s Booster Bash Fundraiser, the school offered expanded sponsorship opportunities tied to the new board. The initiative was a success, bringing in additional support and solidifying the board’s role as a community asset.
Even online, the impact is being felt—roughly two-thirds of the board is visible through the school’s streaming platform, and the clarity of the image has wowed viewers.
Looking Ahead
Palmyra High School isn’t stopping here. The next goal? Installing an LED scoreboard at the Olson Sports Complex, home to the school’s football field and track.
“We’re just getting started,” Hoeft said. “This has opened up so many doors for our students and our school.”
A Partnership That Delivered
Both Hart and Hoeft emphasized that this project wouldn’t have been possible without Fourth Wall’s partnership.
“You made this happen for us,” said Hoeft. “The affordability, the responsiveness, the support—unmatched. It’s been a great experience, and we’re grateful.”
For Fourth Wall, it’s a perfect example of what they aim to achieve: pairing cutting-edge technology with meaningful, community-driven impact.
